Magnolia School District is proud to announce that two District employees have been selected as honorees for the 2026 Orange County Music and Arts Administrators Awards (OCMAA), recognizing their exceptional leadership and commitment to Arts education.
Presented annually by the Orange County Department of Education in partnership with the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the OCMAA Awards honor educators, administrators, and advocates across Orange County who champion high-quality Arts education and expand access to creative learning opportunities for students.

At the March 12 Board meeting, Magnolia School District’s 2025–26 Spelling Bee winners were recognized and awarded certificates for their impressive achievement.

Magnolia School District proudly congratulates Dr. Frank Donavan on being named the recipient of the 2026 ACSA Region 17 Dr. Janice Billings Award. This award recognizes administrators that demonstrate exceptional leadership in the area of student advocacy, especially in advocating for students who face exceptional circumstances and obstacles.

Magnolia School District is proud to announce that Dr. Veronica Lizardi, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, has been selected as the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) – Region 17 Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year.

The Rotary Club of Anaheim donated 400 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in the Magnolia School District. The Rotary Club of Anaheim has donated backpacks to students in Magnolia for the past 11 years.

The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) annually recognizes outstanding school and district administrators for their achievements and dedication to public education. Dr. David Appling was honored with the prestigious Human Resources Administrator of the Year Award for ACSA Region 17. He was later selected as the ACSA State Human Resources Administrator of the Year—a tremendous accomplishment that reflects his exceptional leadership and service.

The annual Magnolia School District 6th Grade Track Meet was a tremendous success as sixth grade students from all nine schools across the District came together to participate in this spirited event celebrating fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Out of 165 Peer Assistance Leadership (PAL) programs in Orange County, five were recognized by the Orange County Department of Education with PAL Awards. Out of those five, two Magnolia School District schools were honored with prestigious Peer Assistance Leadership Awards by the Orange County Department of Education.

On the evening of May 7th the newly formed Magnolia School District Choir had their first performance at Salk School. The Choir performed with the expanded Magnolia School District Band in front of a packed auditorium filled with parents and staff members.The night opened with the Choir, who lit up the stage with powerful renditions of songs by Disney, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, and American Authors—complete with standout student solos.
