The Cops 4 Kids gift-wrapping event at the Anaheim Police Station was a tremendous success. This year Cops 4 Kids is sponsoring 40 of Magnolia families, including those who have had significant losses, such as losing their home or loved one.

On Saturday September 28th, approximately 140 students from the Magnolia School District attended a free STEM event held at the Muzeo in Anaheim. The event was put on by Andrew Needles, the CEO of Clarkson Technologies. Younger students had fun learning about polarity in batteries as they raced toy cars using magnets to propel them.

Thanks to a fantastic partnership between the Magnolia School District, Love Anaheim, the Magnolia Baptist Church and the Anaheim Rotary Club, 100 hygiene kits were assembled and donated to Project HERO.

Thanks to the generosity of the Anaheim Rotary Club, 308 Magnolia students will receive brand new backpacks filled with plenty of school supplies. Rotary members and Magnolia staff members delivered the backpacks to the District on Thursday, August 28th and several students and families were present to receive their backpacks. The remaining backpacks will be delivered to students across the District.

Lord Baden-Powell School hosted a “Super Science Saturday”, an event for 1st grade students. Forty seven first graders attended. The students were accompanied by 12 eighth grade students from Dale Junior high school as well as an 8th grade science teacher. Six Engineers from ASCE and one teacher form Inside the outdoor collaborated as well.

Lord Baden-Powell Student Council and 6th graders spearheaded the Socktober project at Baden-Powell School, a sock drive for the homeless. This is another great example of how Magnolia School District keeps performing “Infinite Acts of Kindness.”

Saturday, February 23, 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of the Magnolia School District Dental Clinic and Community Health Fair. Dr. Jonas Salk Elementary School MPR was transformed into a Dentist’s office and the courtyard was turned into a community health fair. Students and their families from all across the district were invited to attend.

The 2019 Magnolia School District Spelling Bee was a memorable one! The rain may have delayed the Bee, but it certainly did not stop it. The two top spellers from each of our 9 schools participated in the very intense competition. Students successfully spelled words such as extravaganza, gregarious, capricious and cauliflower.

On Saturday, December 8, almost 350 fourth through sixth grade students attended a four hour Saturday School session. Offered for the first time in Magnolia School District, this four hour session was designed to provide students with fun, engaging learning activities while making up some lost learning time from being absent.
